Men's Fitness FitBrit Challenge

Nationwide

Following the success of last year's maiden FitBrit, our awesome cross-training event is back. FitBrit is a timed challenge held at Fitness First gyms across the country. It comprises eight different exercises that test your all-round fitness, and anyone over the age of 16 can have a crack at it. If you clock a fast enough time, you'll be invited to a grand final where top prizes will be up for grabs.

For more info and to sign up, go to the FitBrit section of our site.

2. 6th-7th June

Movistar Barcelona Extreme

Barcelona

If you want chill out in the sun and watch others bust a gut rather than sweating up a storm yourself, why not head over to the Barcelona Extreme Sports Festival in the Catalan capital. Mind you, with 200 skateboard, BMX, wakeboard and Motocross pros busting huge tricks on a variety of courses, even watching is going to be a pretty pulse-raising experience.

Go to the Barcelona Extreme Sports Festival website for more details.

3. 13th June

Saab Salomon South Downs Marathon

Chichester

If you were put off the London Marathon by the thought of having to cough your way through 26.2 miles in one of the world's most polluted cities, this is the endurance race for you. The Saab Salomon South Downs Marathon is the endurance race for you. This taxing countryside trail marathon runs through verdant woodland and along coastal pathways in West Sussex. Nothing like a picturesque view to distract you from the pain.

Visit the Saab Salomon trail running website for more details.

4. 20th June

INOV-8 Windemere Challenge

The Lake District

During this demanding race you have paddle the full length (10.5 miles) of the UK's deepest lake - Windemere, if you hadn't already guessed - in two stages and complete treks up and down the three highest peaks surrounding the lake. You can use a kayak or canoe and enter in a team of two or four. There are also demo boats to try, as well as equipment lectures and kayak skills classes to attend if the race hasn't done you in.

Go to Total Adventure's website for more information.
