This scenic five-hour biking and running challenge is suitable for everyone from adventure racing novices through to experts. You progress through the race by navigating your way between a series of waypoints and markers, can race solo or in a team of two and can decide how much time you spend cycling or running.

If your idea of romance is a bracing run with your partner, this should be right up your alley. After all, how many events let you glance lovingly into your beloved's eyes while attempting to beat your 1OK PB. If you don't live in or fancy a trip to London there are also Valentine's Love Runs taking place in Newcastle, Manchester and Cardiff. The event is organised by the charity Action Duchenne who raise money for research into the incurable disease Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.
