Burton European Open Snowboarding Championships

Laax, Switzerland

Want to see 400 of the world's best riders tearing up a massive half-pipe, huge kickers and snaking rails? Then head to the Swiss snow sports resort Laax for the tenth Burton European Open. As well as TTR (Ticket To Ride) world ranking points, there's £85,000 of prize money up for grabs. And once the riding's done, get ready to party because the The Streets are playing at Laax's hippest hotel Riders Palace on the 16th.

Wellingborough Multi-Terrain Run - 5K, 10K, 15K

Irchester Country Park, Northamptonshire, England

Because there are three different distances, this is a great race for first timers looking for a short fun run in scenic surroundings or serious runners after something a bit more challenging in preparation for a marathon. The course for all the distances is the same, with the 5K runners completing one lap, the 10K runners completing two and the 15K runners completing three. The race is the first in a three stage series and the organisers are expecting about 500 competitors.

Dynamic Adventure Racing Challenge

New Forest National Park, Hampshire, England

Suited to novice and intermediate adventure racers, this is a stage and and score event where you navigate your way around a course while running and mountain biking. You can race solo, in a pair or a team of three, and can chose your route and how many checkpoints you want to visit. There's even the option to do the race when it's dark so you'll be able to put your night navigation skills to the test.
