More than 3,000 people completed the 2009 FitBrit Challenge, and the top 50
fastest men and women were invited to take part in the grand final at the
Edgbaston Indoor Cricket Ground in Birmingham on Sunday 8th November 2009.
Throughout the day the intensity built and the times got faster until, in
the final heat, Gregg Taylor recorded a blistering time of 9min 41.07sec,
that saw him crowned 2009 FitBrit champion. The runner up was last year's
finalist, Cassius Frankson, who clocked 10min 0.44sec. The women’s event was
even closer with Rach Jones using every last drop of energy to finish in
9min 10.03sec, just ahead of Nicola Rowley in 9min 11.59sec.
Congratulations to everyone who took part, and to the supporters who, by the
end of the day, were so enthusiastic they were practically on the treadmill
belts alongside the competitors. FitBrit will be back next year so look out
for it in the magazine and visit mensfitness.co.uk for regular updates.
